• Essential oils that you will use in your perfume should be tested on your skin. You need to be sure that your skin is not sensitive to it. Otherwise, you perfume will be wasted.
• You have to decide how strong the fragrance will be and mix the contents of alcohol, water and oils accordingly. The stronger you want it to be, the lesser will be the water content and the alcohol content will be the highest.
• For long lasting men’s eternity you need to make separate kind of perfumes.Make sure you put in 75-80% alcohol and 15-30% essential oils. The water should only be 5%.
• Only distilled water from bottles should be used. For alcohol, pure vodka should be used. The likes of Brandy should be avoided because they have their own scent which can disrupt your perfume’s fragrance.
• In case you like coloured perfumes, make sure you add good quality natural dyes. If you use cheap ones, they will leave colour on your skin and clothes.
• Only glass bottles or containers should be used to store perfumes. Plastics are a no-no. Sterilized bottles should be used for storing and cut and crafted glass bottles should be avoided. This is because these kinds trap heat and attract sunlight which is very bad for perfumes.
• Any good named perfume brand makes sure that they have their options laid out in front of them. Likewise, according to the kind of fragrance you want you can choose between base notes (wood, cinnamon, sandalwood), middle notes (clove, lemongrass, ylang-ylang), top notes (bergamot, lavender, lemon lime) or bridge (vanilla, lavender). The bridge is added and blended to any of the other three options.
